Apex vs FST real world results

Sounds like a nice day on the lake....wish I was even close to that on Sunday. What have the dyno's shown for the Attaks? I get two rags, Snowtech and Snogoer. One of them said the Attak on topend took the new and almighty Doo 800R (13 more hp on the Doo?). I think the Attak is really...

    NEW APEX MOTOR!!!!

I heard over a year ago that Yammi was coming out with a 3 cyl. I thought the guy meant for the Apex chassis, but I guess now he was referring to the Nytro motor. However, I could very easily see Yammi increase the hp on that 3 cyl and put it in the Apex chassis...it would have to save weight.

    ATTACK - Pushes in Corners?

Hey Al! No judging of anyone in particular here, just a general thought. I guess what I'm trying to get across to those looking for info is that you can pretty much do with a 136" what you can do with a 121", and then some. I'm on my second one, and if I didn't like it, I wouldn't keep doing...

    ATTACK - Pushes in Corners?

Very nicely put! Most people do not want to believe me when I tell them this. To me, some of the anti-136" thoughts are very similar to the mentality guys have/had that a 4-stroke snowmobile would never work. Yamaha has definitely proved them wrong, and if a guy would take the time to set up...

    ATTACK - Pushes in Corners?

Totally agree. My riding buddy rides a ProXr, and we are very aggressive riders. My going to 136" has not given him the ability to outrun me on the trails. You can do just about anything (haven't found one thing I can't yet) with the 136" that you can with a 121", plus it rides better. I can...

    Cat skid in an Attak?

BS, two of my friends have them, and I've only been able to spend a little time on one of them...definitely not enough time to experience the mono in ALL types of conditions. There are two basic concerns I have (based on comments from owners on this forum): 1. chewing idlers/straps/clips, and...

    Continue to lead Yamaha!

I agree with you guys. If Doo pulls this off, great for them, and the rest of us as the other manufacturers will try to do the same. I just can't see cutting that much weight though on a high hp sled and it still hold up to miles and miles of trails. Like some one said, you can't keep taking...

    ATTACK - Pushes in Corners?

Pushing is usually the result of the owner not taking the time to set the suspension up properly. As with any sled, you should figure your first day of riding after purchasing will be spent adjusting the suspension for your riding style. A lot of "non-owners" have this idea that 136" skids...

    Cat skid in an Attak?

Thanks Fullback! Did you have to do any mods, to the skid or the sled?

    Cat skid in an Attak?

You'd have to experience it to appreciate it. MM, you have me confused with someone else. I don't dog anyone for what they ride. You can do a search with my name and any brand name on any forum and you won't find any bashing from me. I'd rather not get into your comments from A-Chat on...

    Cat skid in an Attak?

I'm considering finally buying an Attak. My current sled is an '01 Tcat stretched to 136". Previously I did the same thing to my ZR800. I will never own anything less than 136" again. I've liked the ATTAK since it came out, but I am concerned with all the skid/track/idler issues posted here...

    yamaha #2 in sales

Well then, using your logic, look what Cat did do this year...that should put them close to the top for next season, right? 80% of Cat's lineup is new.

Week 2 in the books RTX now 400 miles

Ydog, how good of a friend is this guy? You could let him stay in front for the first couple days like he really has something, then let him have it. Might be worth the look on his face, LOL. Or better yet, let him stay in front for a few days, then just let him ride yours, don't ask him what...

dootalk: Rode and raced rtx yesterday

True! Stock clutching is the Mach's worst enemy. The one's that are clutched and picked give a heck of a fight. I just think it's great that the 4-strokes are knocking on everyone's doors, and coming through in most cases, in relatively stock form. Just wait 'til guys get through the...

    interesting

I've heard something similar recently, but it sounded so far fetched that I never cared to repeat it, then this thread. I heard that Yammi will discontinue the current 4 cyl engines in as soon as 2 years in favor of 2 or 3 cyl mills. Interesting that what you've posted here doesn't mention how...

    Help- electrical

I was also told more than once it wasn't wise to tap into the sled's power, but maybe you guys have it figured out. Last year we purchased the Communicaor Power just to be safe. http://www.communicatorpower.com/

    Chaine Case Problems

Sometimes surgical instruments are left in humans, very possible something left in there from production that shouldn't have. Let us know if it's covered easily by the dealer/Yammi.

Great feedback and pics. Looks like paradise up there. My buddy keeps tempting me to leave anyday to head up there, but I just can't go 'til after the first of the year.

    225 Mi. ATTAK REPORT

The Ripsaw was never promoted as a mountain track. If a guy's going to be playing out west, he needs to have a paddle track. The Ripsaw is an awesome trail/off trail track. You'll have no problem selling that track!
