Anyhow already packed and leaving tommorrow night for 4 days in the UP. Goal is break 1000 miles if the snow allows. Got a buddy that bought a left over 2003 (can you believe it) Polaris 700 proX and he wants to go and break it in. He thinks he can kick my
(hes new to sledding and the sales guy, 18yrs old, told him the 700 is a rocket) I've let him dream for the past 4 wks. About time to wake him from this nightmare. He He.

Ydog, how good of a friend is this guy? You could let him stay in front for the first couple days like he really has something, then let him have it. Might be worth the look on his face, LOL. Or better yet, let him stay in front for a few days, then just let him ride yours, don't ask him what he thinks, and see what he says. If you do that, he won't want to get back on that ProX!!!!

If that would have been the edge chassis, I would have said don't give him any head start, because the 700's were fast in the edge chassis. The pro-x they were dog slow.

Awesome post! I also raced cars and karts for 15 years and couldn't agree more about the fun factor for the money.
Don't have to worry about the edge chasis 700 2 buddies have them and on my 1st week out tought them a lesson. And I was going easy because of breakin.

Yamadog...did you ever consider an Attak? How about the low windshield on the RTX...was that an issue?

The low windshield is useless, Ive never felt so much cold air pounding my body in all my years if riding. I swapped the thong RTX windshield for a stock attak windshield and its a world of difference.

Are you getting old TT or is that wisdom..... But, you are right, it is useless, but I don't like any of the new windshields, so I'm waiting to see if there will be better ones for next year that will fit on my sled.
