In the shop manual code 37 comes up as the ISC valve ( idle speed control) stuck fully open with the symptom being a high idle. Hope this is some help.
As mentioned above, try the shims first. If this doesn't work, get your clutch center to center dimension checked. This has to be rechecked/adjusted when doing a bulkhead, a good dealer will do this, but I have seen many dealers not do it.
Met a fellow on the trail who had one on an Apex LTX and really liked it. He was actually a sled mechanic and said he has put them on the 3cyls also with good results. He told me he puts them on any Yamaha that needs a complete clutch overhaul as it is cheaper. I would/ will consider this in...
My 2010 does something very similar if not the same as this, first time it happened I thought I had a bad plug and had a cylinder coming in and out, I am now coming to think it may be in the clutches. Still searching.
I guess I’ll be the exception here. I have run snowtrackers for about 6000km on 2 Yamahas and will say that on hard packed trails they are the best handling runner I have found. That being said, in my experience there are snow and speed conditions where they are unpredictable and quite...
Only used one type of rivet for the structural stuff, they sold me PN 90267-47195-00 RIVET, BLIND at the dealer. The dealer only had enough rivets to do the bulkhead so I just used pop rivets to put the panels back on. I did put washers under the rivet heads in case the panels have to come off...
Did this job on my Vector this year, it is pretty involved but not difficult if you are used to doing some mechanical work.
Here is what I found: Buy the Yamaha rivets or identical replacements - they bite way harder than your typical pop rivet.
Buy a good clutch alignment & center to...
Just an update on my friend's sled.
His exhaust valves were out of tolerence too. Unfortunately, there were other issues when he got in there. both cams were excessively worn with one cam lobe in very bad shape. All oil changes were done as per Yamaha guidelines using Yamaha oil and filter...
I would think that this would be different for each sled and rider. A simple visual inspection will let you know the condition. That being said, mine have been replaced about every 8000km.
Thanks for the update Roz.
Glad to hear that your sled is running well again.
I'll pass this along to the others I know that are having this issue.
Did they give you any feedback as to why the valves went out of spec so early?
Hi Roz:
I have been keeping an eye out for someone having this problem on here . I know of 3 sleds in my area doing the same thing.
The one that i am most familiar with starts perfect when cold and will idle until the warm up light goes out, then it will stall, almost as soon as the...
Certainly could be a number of things, but a fellow I ride with had something similar happen to his 2008 Venture. It turned out that the flywheel bolts had sheared off, the starter was okay, the flywheel was just spinning. I believe the motor had to come out but parts were cheap.
Let us know...
Are the people recommending the Extreme's also studded?
I am running an unstudded 136" Rage and am wondering if the semi agressives would be better, or if the longer track would be enough to handle the Extreme's?
Also anyone notice any fuel mileage decrease? I presently have Deuce bars and...
Add one more to the aluminum pile. 2006 Rage with 12700 Kms, I just noticed it when getting ready to store for the summer. This isn't a question of IF, It's a question of WHEN.
I tried Zero preload on the front shocks of my rage but found that they bottomed out on the hard hits so I bumped them back up. Apparently they offer stiffer springs for the RX 1's in order to combat this but when I talked to Pioneer last year they didn't have anything for the RS series.
I have an 06 Rage and know exactly what you are talking about. I have tried every adjustment on this suspension and overall has made little to no difference. IMO it is a trait of the monoshock, in the older rear suspensions you had a front spring/shock that you could adjust to take pressure off...
