Glad to see they haven't changed it since I'm trying to sell my 06 Apex. I love the Apex its a great sled. I love yamaha's but if they don't step it up they are going to get passed by.
With doo's new 4tec at only 500 pounds vs our 550 if they bump the HP to 150 from 130 that will hurt them...
Its the same stuff. No higher horsepower numbers no reduction in weight. Color and graphics only.
A couple fugly mountain sleds and Vectors that are so underpowered im sure they won't be able to get out of their own way.
Water in the gas rusted the vales? If thats tru that sucks. How many of you guys run dry gas in your sleds. I know I run a little bit in each of my tanks of gas.
If water in the gas is indeed causing this problem, that solves the problem right there. It also keeps the gas from freezing too.
hmm your right. I even tried it for the 06/07 nytro. I wonder why they dont have it listed. In your case i would paint the whoel a-arm anyway and save some paint for touch up. Thats to much to touch up. Yours are really bad. I have 2 small chips.
this yamaha was my first sled ive personally owned so it was my frist time really out there doing some riding. My friends ride ski doo or F7's. When the found out i looked at yamaha naturally i heard weight this and weight that. The other thing they said was oh blah blah when your out there you...
I think Yamaha will always be a little heavier. You can't make a 4-stroke sled lighter than a 2 stroke sled. Its a price you pay for reliability. With that being said, with the proce of sleds today upwards of 10,000 I want the damn thing to last!!!!!
The day 2 strokes become extinct is the...
Here ya go. I have 2 small chips in my a-arms. I think i am going to try this company out. supposively they have all the yamaha colors.

I did it for the 06 year but if you have an 07 just go back through the snowmobile section and...
They arent known for motor reliability thats for sure. I would think you would have to be. I mean how can anyone go spend $8000-10,000 on a sled and wonder is it going to last even 1500 miles. Thats why i didnt buy a ski doo. Almost did but thats what scared me away. If i was more confident in...
well i just saw the post on the dry weight for the new nytro. 521 pounds was a disappointment. When i saw everying throwing the 490-500 pound numbers around i was pretty excited. Still a step in the right direction. If yamaha can manage to get these sleds down to the 500 mark with the hp...
hahah speaking from experience are you? I know the HJC modular was cold and i didnt care for it at all but i know 2 people that ride with that helmet and they have no complaints. They ride with a head sock and if you want there is an attachment that covers your whole neck and upper chest if you...
I dont think there is any good way to coat a tunnel with paint or powercoat. When you think about it you have boots rubbing up against it all day long wil riding. Its bound to just wear off!! The painted tunnels look good but most of the time i think they are better off just leaving them...
I have the 1 1/4" ripsaw on my apex still and its a nice track. I just wish the stocker was fully clipped. When/if i need to replace it, I would replace it with a fully clipped hacksaw or ripsaw.
A friend of mine had a 15x121x1" predator on his ski doo and put on a 14x121x1 hacksaw.
The...
What made you switch over. I'm curious was it just to have the 4 stroke? I've seen guys switching but mostly it was due to some kind of problem. I think thats the reason most guys switch brands.
I feel ya on that one. I bought my yamaha last year and im the only one with a 4 stroke. I feel kinda left out lol everyone else rides an F7 or Rev. I hear everyday that oh its to heavy this and to heavy that, Rev this and rev that, oh ski doo did this. Now with the new Rev XP coming out its...
My friend bought this brp helmet with the electric shield. Still has the built in flip down visor. Its a modular style helmet which is cool. The good part is it actually seals off the bottom of the helmet much better than the HJC modulars. I tried using one a few times this winter and found it...
I saw that this afternoon and read the whole post. All i have to say is i feel bad for the ski doo rep. There has to be no greater embarassment than having your brand new sled blow up on the first demo ride.
From what i read that 800R motor has been plaged with quite a few problems all year...
True and your abosultely right about BRP and their engine reliability. Thats is why i bought the yammi. I was all set to sign the papers on an 06 ski doo and just couldnt pull the trigger? Why you ask? Because i was just gettign ready to spend $8400 on a machine and didnt know whether it...
I personally wouldnt even consider buying one till 09. I'm a member of all the boards and i was over on doo talk poking around a bit. Same ole same ole basically lotta guys complaining thier 800 and 800R's blowing up. There is actually a post from a demo ride about the new XP. First ride out...
hahaha me and my buddy we arguring last night. He is Mr. Ski Doo. I'll be honest im sick of hearing how great Doo is and how they can't do anything wrong and how heavy my sled is. I don't even really talk about it much but he feels the need to tell me all the time anyway haha.
Yamaha really...
OK lets not start a flame war or bashing thread here, BUT.....what do you guys think of the new 08 Rev XP? Not really looking for ppl's opinion on how it looks because thats all personal preference because im sure alot of ppl will say its ugly haha. I know i personally don't care for the looks...
