Dupont slide owners, something to watch out for

OK, back to original post by suprfst, still wondering about 2 things; what year and kind of sled and how many total MILES on sliders. It does appear consistant that once these things start to wear, they wear fast, that's fine, but at what mileage, on average, does this happen????? understandably...

Dupont slide owners, something to watch out for

What was the total mileage on them???? There is difference in significance if it was the last 150 miles on 4000 miles or the last 150 miles on 1000 miles. I understand that some guys are saying that they may outwear factory ones and that when they reach a certain point they wear like crazy...

    heed y pipe help

What kind of sled?? Usually don't have to drop skid to take exhaust off at Y pipe. Take of tail light assembly, and exhaust tip covers; you will see seat bolts; undo them and slide seat off (disconnect tail light harness at front of seat). Remove rear heat shield and gas cap and slide rubber...

    valve problem

There was a change up on the early yamacharger impeller housing covers. The original ones had too thin of grates and were breaking. Check the cover to see if any of the plastic dividers look to be missing.

Bought a 2010 Apex LTX GT

I've got the identical sled; one piece of for sure important advice is; get the new Dupont sliders, makes a huge difference. I was wearing out hyfax in good snow conditions in 400 - 600 kil. The Duponts are showing no signs of wear and no track clip wear signs at all. I had a couple of extra...

Dupont slides, is it a yah or nah???????

Had them on last year for about 1200 km. About half in very minumul snow conditions...... BIG YES...... Virtually no wear, track clips fine. Previous, even with the extra wheels (that I kept peeling the rubber off) was lucky to get 300 Km. in minimul snow.

    Premium or Regular......07 Attak

    Dupont Sliders

2010 Apex GT LTX is really bad as well; 2000 miles and 3 sets of sliders; put the extra wheel kit on last year and replaced 2 wheels cause the rubber peeled off. My dealer put the new sliders on last week; no cost because of all the grief I've had; they don't appear to provide any increased...

    Yamacharger Install Instructions

There is a great thread on this site done by mr.pitstop back in Nov /10. It is a step by step with pictures. Much better than any instruction papers you'll get. Don't know how to send you a link to the thread. Maybe click on mr.pitstop and you can get to it or p.m. him. Hope this helps

    yamacharger impellar cover

From SRX's picture it appears that the charger is one of the 1st generation ones. the outside row of vent tabs look to be about half the size of the inside ones. I received my change up from G Force. The outside row is the same thickness as the inside ones. G force did admit to the thin outside...

    yamacharger impellar cover

Had a look at my impellar cover a couple weeks ago. OK. Been riding in alot colder weather the last 2 weeks. Checked just before the weekend. Found 7 of the tabs (from the top middle one and 3 on each side of it) to be cracked on the side closest to the impellar. Called G Force. They admitted to...

    WOW! Flames out the exhaust

Here's a new one for me; Have a 2010 Apex with the usual; yamcharger, PCIII, Ig. Mod, geared and clutched. 4 of us lined up on the lake last night and I got the jump on the others by a few sled lengths. End of run guys were all "Holy crap, you should have seen the flames coming out your...

According to yamaha, no hyfax overheating problem on XTX '11

I stopped by my dealers today to pick up some stuff. Saw a set of sliders standing against the wall that looked worse than Frosty's; holes were even bigger. He said they were from '11 XTX. On my "10 I've switched to Doo wheels after 2 sets of sliders in about 1200 miles; wheels are just a...

FYI ....this help's with hyfax wear

On 2010 Apex; 1st set of sliders at 700 miles below wear line; now 2nd set at wear line and a little below at front curve at 500 miles. I believe that the speeds we run at have some to do with the wear but I run with some other guys doing the same speeds on Doos and Cats that sliders still OK so...

    Hyfax shot after 500 miles

I have a 2010 Apex GT LTX with 1120 Kil. ( about 700 miles). I bought it new, rode the sled 99% of the time in excellent snow conditions and mine are below the wear line. Granted the sled has been subjected to some pretty high speeds with the yamcharger, clutching, PC and Ig mod. I read...

    Save your money

Boy, lots of opinions since yesterday. In my thread I personally never said that I was unhappy with the product or the product was not worth the $. The upgrades are not to necessarily improve overall performance gains; they are to improve the overall integrity and operation of the product. Kudos...
