I am thinking about extending my apex to a 153 (extend or new rear suspension), and I was wondering would I have rubbing issues if I used a powerclaw 15x153x2.25 with 7 tooth 3" pitch drivers, and I'm guessing a drop bracket for the suspension would be needed.
Would it fit, or would I need to...
3 junk sleds out of 7 isn't too bad, not really very good, but I've had friends have worse odds then that.
To be truthful, I've owned everything but a Polaris, and I've never had any major problems with either. More trouble with the Doo then the Arctic Cat though, and of course the 2 Yamaha's...
I've had my oil light come on a couple different days while riding, the oil level is fine, I shut off the sled and start it again and it is gone out and doesn't come back on. I've had the same thing happen with fuel light coming on while having over half a tank, shut the sled down and start it...
I had about 1500 miles this year, only 800 last year. Ended up being cold on my days off work a number of times, cold enough that I didn't want to go out. Down to -60C a couple times with the wind, not interested in doing much but staying in the warm.
I think if I was going to choose what company would buy out Yamaha, and it was between AC, Polaris, or Doo, I would pick Arctic Cat as my first choice. Thankfully I don't think we ever have to worry about such a thing.
Buddy of mine had a jackshaft bearing go just under a month ago, his sled is a 06 Apex RTX with just under 5000 miles, not sure what caused the bearing to go, or if this is about normal mileage for them to go without taking off the seal and greasing them.
I was actually wondering if I should...
I was looking at either getting a 2010 summit or 2010 M8, I like the few changes that brought the M8's numbers from 146hp to 160hp, with the M1000 only pushing 162hp I'm surprised they didn't get rid of that model altogether. Also dropped a few pounds, I'm impressed with the changes they did...
I got to ask, how did you find the M8? I currently have a 07 RTX and am looking at getting another sled for climbing and such. 2010 Summit XP or 2010 M8 were the top 2 on my list (I know not a popular choice around here) but the Apex isn't going anywhere, I'd just have 2 sleds.
My 07 RTX gets warm enough on full to turn down after about 30minutes of riding, by which point my fingers are getting numb, however I have had 06 bars on my 07 rtx (regret changing them back) and before the sled was warmed up with the heated grips set to 3 bars it was warm enough to be...
They are the 9 tooth Avid Product Drivers, I found it odd cause I had never heard of anyone else mentioning this. When it does strike its not like the rails go in inches past the driver teeth, they will get close enough to rub the highest point on the driver tooth.
Ok I took the sled for a short run yesterday to try it out, I was going easy just in case the rails struck. They never, at most they may have grazed but I didn't hear or feel anything, checked the front of the rails and the teeth on the drivers this morning and there are no scratches or...
Its only touching when the suspension is compressed to maximum (we had put a 6x6 block under the front to check it out), just sitting on the floor of the garage normally there is enough room to get your hand in around there. There doesn't seem to be any damage to the suspension, while it was out...
Okay, I just finished putting my 07 Apex RTX back together after changing the track and installing 9 tooth anti slip drivers, me and a buddy put a block of wood under the front of the suspension to compress it as much as we can.
The problem I'm noticing is that the front of the rail is...
