I believe there was a guy who posted a video on Youtube last winter with a Yoshi pipe on his FX. Didn't sound too bad but was really loud. I have an Ultra-Q on mine and it sounds very similar to my YFZ450 with an FMF. Its probally alot cheaper than a Yoshi and simple to bolt on.
Awesome idea! They work great on my Quad and Moto bike. I think I have a couple extras kickin around in the garage. Hey Weapon X is that a 2-stroke Yami sittin in the back?
Just picked up my '07 FX from the dealership today from its first service. Had the steering recall done and also its first oil change. Brought in my own oil and they supplied the filter. They charged me 43 cdn and that was the cost of the filter($23) and for labour of the oil change. Not sure...
RZ 500...wow sweet bike! I bought an '86 RZ350 with Toomey pipes back in '94. Fastest 350 ever made. Was stupid and sold it in '97 with only 4200 kms.
Yes I believe the Gimli track is still open. A friend of mine used to race his Stang there.
Only one update on mine which is the steering. No requirement for the ECU kit. Usually fires right up 3-4 cranks on the warmer days ( -10C and above, no wind-chill ). Anything below that usually takes around 8-10 cranks.
LOL. For those of us who live in Manitoba know very well that temps get well below -30C. I am not mis-leading anyone. Just stating my experience with MY sled. I have NO problems with starting in those temps. Something we have to remember that not all machines are the same. If wind-chill factors...
Sure it does if it is parked outside. And actually it hasn't been started since Sunday. I thought for sure the battery would be dead. Manitoba winters are hard on everything as you know.
I closed off my tunnel after my very first ride. Was doin some agressive ridin and my foot actually slipped off and on to the ground, scary. My front suspension was sqeeky as well until I lubed all the ball joints with chain wax. My front steering freezes up all the time but it goes in tomorrow...
My rad has been full of ice and snow since beginning of Dec and it hasn't overheated yet. Maybe a fluke, who knows. You would think that having ice/ snow against the rad would keep it cool, agree?
Mine goes in tomorrow for the steering update. Unfortunately its not the same dealership that I bought it from so this may have some affect on the "Good Will" thing. We will see. Mine was purchased from Parkway Yamaha as well.
Well mine get very hot here as well. So hot they actually burn your thumb. I ain't complaining cause tonite its -45 deg C. Oh and she started no problem with about 10 cranks and no cold start update.
I agree totally. I'm 36 and this thing is an absolute blast to ride. Very easy to throw around for young and old. I ride Moto-X and race quad in the summer so I find it very similar. First impression was maybe its a little under-powered but surprisingly its very snappy. This thing just floats...
So "Minks_698", are you gonna put the GYT's on the YFZ? Be curious to see how the YFZ would react to them. I have the Race Tech valving and I'm sure it would give the FX a better ride.
Mine starts usually 5-8 cranks with a few blips of the throttle to help it. Temps range from 0'C to -30'C here. I also agree that fuel injected machines should start quicker. My ole 96 Mach 1 would start second pull with 3 pumps of the plug fouler in -30 temps. There is also supposed to be a...
Sorry don't really have time to read all "50 Pages" of forums. Some of us have to work...lol
Was only concerned about the serious issues I might expect.
The only recall notice that I have received, and I bought the sled new last year was the recall about the nut on the steering linkage coming loose and/ or falling off. Still waiting on parts for that from the dealership.
Was out ridin yesterday in about 2 feet of powder. Got home and let the sled sit for about an hour or so then jumped back on to go for a quick rip around the track and I could hardly steer left or right! Jacked up the front end to see what the problem was and noticed that the front steering was...
