I have a 03 RX1 ER that started out as a 121" sled.

Specs:
144" track
Stock gearing for 121" ER
stock primary
secondary is a team roller with a 68-44-46 ER? I am not sure about the spring though..
k&N filters and silver springs..

I bought the Secondary used with the helix installed. I was told to remove 2 grams per weight in the primary but have not done that yet.???
I wanted to try it and see.

When I have it held at WOT the RPMS hold at 9500 to 9700 and stay pretty steady. It seems to pull hard but I know there is more there.

What should I do? I want to make sure I am doing the right thing without spending a mint!!

Any help would be apprieciated!!

With k & N,s they need 10,200-10,400 rpm on top & 10k holeshot for best performance. Your gonna have to lighten up the primary weights by about 1-2 grams in each hole. get a gram scale ; use a grinder & grind down the stock rivets till you get perfect rpm,s.

Seems like you might want to look at the gears too. The longer tracked sleds are typically geared down from the stock 121's. (e.g. Warrior vs. Rx-1, etc.)

I agree the 24/38 gears are going to be hard for that engine to pull, I would go to 23 for sure and possibly a 22 but you need a new chain for that.

On a stock sled (121) the 23 gear is a good upgrade get top speed and accell, so for yours I would serisouly consider the 22.

I was wondering the same thing.. When it comes to clutching and gearing I am a beginner. I was thinking of going with a 23 and see how it does..

Kinger.. Did you get your dads sled back together?

Thanks guys!!
