Being a retired auto mechanic I have been into many carbs ( just to make you aware I know my way around a bit ;) )

While waiting on my WRP seat kit to arrive I am cleaning the carbs for the first time since I have owned this sled. Looks like they have never been opened up before

Question is the O ring on the main. Mine are deformed and brittle, I cannot reuse them

I am going to try to find replacements at work tomorrow

I did a little searching and it seems they arent really needed? Is this true? Some people are putting it together with no o ring?

This isnt the mountain carb setup, there is no shield just an o ring

What is the consensus here? I can take a pic but I dont think its necessary

Regards

I've heard of guys removing the screens on the bottom of the needle valve but can't say I've heard of them removing the o-ring on the main jet as I am like you and don't see how that is not needed.

got it back together last night. Running fine again

First time I have had carb issues with this sled, owned it for about 5 years

Carbs are really easy to clean, the problem was the tiny hole in the pilot jet was plugged which I have learned is a common problem
