my friend just picked up a 04 with 3400 mi's and it has been sitting for a year or two the owner did use stable he said. sled idols rough so we pulled the carbs tonight wow first time for me what a set up this is i will be cleaning them tomorrow any pictures would help and any thoughts on any thing would be great. we did replace slides and greased everything i could think of. oh ya the sled had all most no gas so we add a can of sea foam and some high test and stable i hope this works. thanks for any help.

I hope you did not lose any of the little o rings in the top cap when you took it off. Do one carb at a time and do one jet at a time so there is no chance of mixing it up spray cleaner and air through every nook and cranny. Be careful taking off the phillips float bowl screws they can strip real easy. You can order some allen head screws from Sledtoyz right from this site and nver have that problem again. The pilot jets are the smaller ones that look like a cannon barrel when its out you have to be able to see light through them. I used a wire from a wire brush to clean mine.

x2 on the wire thru the piolts it essential in not cleaned properly you will be pullling the carbs again!

One comment I've seen on here is that they actually run better on the lower octane fuel and you should just use the good stuff for storage (no ethanol to go bad).

Had same issue with my Warrior carb cleaning.Be thorough upon cleaning .Including jets and passages. One trick I found most effective is to use mariatic acid on jets only.Submerse them for 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water. This method works very well as you will notice the jet will look like new with all residue removed.Once rinsed ,blow off the compressed air to remove any moisture as well as passage in carb body.Once done my sled ran like new .Mariatic acid is the ticket if used properly.

i did not think they where real dirty at all i have seen alot worse but it runs good now. funny thing i adjusted the ideal wrong and it started to not rev and back fire lol first time for that but we got it we have to add some oil today. hopefully it runs fine this weekend going for a trip up northern maine.

If your throttle cable is too tight the Thottle Overide System or TORS for short will kick in and will not let the sleds clutch engage. Make sure you have 2 or 3 mm of play on your throttle cable it is set by hand on the carb rack where it joins onto it. Sounds like that is what was kicking in until you got it set right. :carbs:

Used the B.H.M.M.E. In the Heading and ALL IS GOOD NOW

BTW..... that's the Specail Moderator Tool We Have that we use here on TY YAMAHA....Bounty Hunter Magic Marker Eraser
