I just got back from a 1500mi+ ride in Quebec. Put the sled in the garage to thaw out and service. Found that my RA cable is broke again.
I have the new bracket in from the recall. This is my 3rd cable in 4500mi. Does anyone have a good fix for this? I see that the 07 sleds have the same system unless you go with the RTX or GT with Olins electric.
Any info on the wire for the Olins electric as well. How does that hold up with the snow and ice under the sled?

I've been fotunate enough not to have any problems with the Ohlins.
Being this is a continuing problem for you, take it in again, it should be covered if you have had multiple problems.

Is it just the outer rubber hose breaking or the inner metal cable?
I recently had my first cable break, actually it was the hose.Normally my sled thaws out after every ride(heated garage)but two weeks ago we rode 5 days in the UP(saddle bag trip)4th day into trip RA quit working. On the 5th day I tried it again and seemed to be working but at full hard it seemed like mid way in the valving (I thought shock had blown Out)Got home and thawed it out and found hose broken and cable had came out and went back in a different positon, propaply when I was turning it.Any how shock was fine and I called yamaha dealer to see if RA cable has been updated ( I all ready have the updated bracket) and was told he thought it was the same and cost 60.00.
So I got some clear nylon reinforced hose with same id as the rubber hose but was about three times as thick.I cut the metal fittings from end and opened them up enough to fit the larger hose ,got the length right, put some safety wire around them to collapse metal around hose, sealed it up with duct tape and put back on sled.Should be a much better setup than the thin rubber vaccum line hose it came with.I could snap some pics if it would help.
Ive also been thinking of eliminating the ra dial on the tunnel and moving it up to the bars with a longer cable.

WHen you reinstall your cable make sure you put the shock clicker and RA handle at the full hard position. As I understand it there are more clicks below the soft position on the shock that doesn't have any effect.
