Went out today and granted it was about 35 degrees out. When I 1st started up the sled, everything was fine. After riding and stopping for a pitstop, it was kind of hard to start and had to press on the gas a little then it would sputter before it would take off. I would then smell a little gas, but then it would clear up. It did this the three times that I stopped for breaks. I did clean the carbs and added fresh gas before riding. Any ideas? Thanks.

I is heat soak. there is no shut off on the carb heat on those sleds, so when they sit it overwarms the carbs causing this. I put a shut off in my line, and it went away. Maxdlx

So there's not anything actually wrong with it? I never noticed it, but then again, I never really rode it too much when it was this warm.

Mine would do it in colder weather too if ridden hard and stopped for 5 minutes. it is fine, just splice a shut off in the carb line, and run with them off above 10 degrees F. Maxdlx

Thanks for the info maxdlx. I was kind of concerned that there might be something screwed up in there somewhere. 

Or when you start it just give it just a little throttle and it starts right up.

That's what I was doing, and when the engine would take off it would sputter for a couple of seconds and then clear up. If I didn't touch the gas, the engine would just spin over and not fire.
I know and that is very normal and minor to say the least. Almost every Rx1 I have seen you need to give it just a wee bit of throttle when starting warm. This is a character of this sled and it is very normal nothing to do or worry about.

Also, it helps if you have the idle set at >or =1600 RPMs. Seems like it stops the "sputtering." Sleddog is right though. Giver her a little throttle on startup. Just be careful to not over do it when you are lined up fr gas.
Never needed a shut-off on carbs. Also, I run the flap over the carbs flipped up on the air-box, until I get in < 20 Degree F temps. Then I flip it down. It seems to reduce the "gurgling" going on after a long run and you come to a stop.

If you adjust your RPM up you will not only reduce the chance of this happening, you will also mask the primary rattle. Serves a dual purpose
Not sure how many have ridden motorcycles or Quads but you have to crack the throttle on them also when cranking. My warrior and kodiak do this, so does my TTR and YZ. When I used to be daring and ride street bikes Seca also did this. Nature of carbs and perking over from heat. That is the beauty of FI, Injectors dont drip.
