Het guys, I am TOTALLY new to this forum, but would appreciate any help you can give me. My bud has a 600 HO Rev and it is smoking me. I mean like 3-4 lengths. As far as I know, his sled is bone stock. My RX1 has had no work done to it either. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my sled? Thanks in advance.

Your clutching has got to be way off........you've got roughly 20 additional hp but also more weight.......but could also be traction.......are either studded?

I have no studs, the 600 has 96 in the center. According to Amsnow my sled weighs 591 with no gas. I am sure the rev weighs less than 500. Would 100 lbs difference cause the problem? What can I do to my clutching, gearing etc?

I have an 09 Nytro RTX SE and an 05 Renegade 600 SDI. The 600 SDI is scary fast bone stock. My Renegade 137 " x 16 " track weighs 469 LBS.

Which is the fastest?

Need to run a minimum of 144 pics, run them down the middle, or you will get tear out on the sides.

Not sure. I just picked the Renegade up for my wife. However, it's feels faster on top end than my Nytro. It seems to have a wicked powerband when the RPMs come up.

If you're riding on ice (with or without loose snow on top), then obviously he'll get you due to difference in traction. Try racing in conditions that the machines are designed for, i.e. SNOW. If you race him on a good thick base of hardpack snow, you'll EASILY take him.

We raced on a packed trail with temps just above freezing, so the snow was just starting to soften up.

When you were raceing what were your rpms you should be at 10200 to 10300 for peak HP try getting clutch kit I've got drag n flys or get one from ulmers then do an air box mod I've got 192 studs in mine but 144 would suffice because you can have 1000 HP under the hood if you can't get it to the ground its useless weight play big part also your already talking 100lbs not including driver so get more HP to the ground by doing above things and you'll be ahead soon hope this helps
P.s. if your not ahead he's not stock like what was stated earler you have 20+ more HP than him now just get it to the ground

Translation: bad conditions.
You want it REAL cold out, like -20, freshly groomed, say about 2-3 hours before, and nobody's driven on it. In those conditions, your RX will rip your arms out while his will sit there like granny's car.

You should be beating him. Our stock RX1 & Warrior beat REV 800's. Check your RPMs as stated in previous post, cant fix if you dont lnow what your running. You might need to replace the clutch springs as they sag over time. Without studs, adjust your rear transfer to get more traction. Other wise, you need at leat 96 studs down the middle, this is ok, no problems. 144 studs if you clutch it. Check the rpms and adjust rear before you spend $$$$. Faster=$$$

rx1 vs 600 rev

i raced one all weekand with my rx1 his ski was at my seat all the time he has team tied secondary and thunder shift kit in his front clutch and he geared done 2 teeth in top gear.his was not running good on top i think he could off beat me if his was right.so i geared mine down one tooth on top installed a set of dalton dyp weights 60 gram red dalton spring wound my secondary to 70 it is much quicker and stronger all the way threw i think he wont even be close .I hope.but let us know what rpm your turning at wot and traction is a big issue with the rx1 get it to hook up. when you get it clutch right it will spin worse as more power to track.

rpm

My rpms are at about 10100 all the way through. I realize I have 20 more hp than him, but wouldn't the extra 100 lbs more than offset this advantage? Its like running a tank against a Corvette. Any specific suggestions on a clutch setup? I want to have it working better for saturday so I don't get smoked again. Thanks for all the input so far.

By Saturday? Well break out the credit card and call ulmers for a clutch kit and studs and get them overnighted or you might try cleaning the clutch and check and or replace your belt .make sure your transfer rods are adjusted up so more weight goes towards back but doing this will take away from handleing . You might have weak springs in your clutches you should replace them just because from what I hear their cheap .also replace plugs if you don't know how old they are .also clean and check your coils to make sure they are not arching all over the place. Hope this helps
