I had my sled apart for a couple of weeks to do the front end bushings and when I went to re-assemble the airbox I noticed there was a plastic nipple on the bottom of the airbox that appears to be a condensation drain. As far as I remember there was the larger oil line and the crankcase breather hose to re-hook up but was there a tube that slipped over the little plastic nipple drain on the bottom?????

There are 2 hoses that connect to the air box. There is the one big one on the oil tank side of the box. And there is smaller one that connects to the box on the bottom (under side). I don't know where that small hose goes, but if you don't connect it, you'll have oil end up everywhere under the air box. Don't ask me how I know ...

Thanks Vectornut! Now I'll quit looking for one in the engine compartment. Yeah gade-thrasher that would be the crankcase breather hose that goes into the case on the right side. Huge mess and blown up motors have been had because of leaving that one unhooked!

I think the best way to handle the blowby tube is to disconnect it at the base of the engine so that you can take off the air box completely. You may have to push the tube up because of a clamp half way up the tube. When you are through, MAKE SURE you rcconnect it at the base of the engine and also at the airbox first if you removed it in the process. Also, if you are changing the oil and filter, add just three liters. If you do it by the service manual and rely on the dipstick, you will add too much oil and it will end up in the air box via the blowby tube and make a mess of things.
I have a 06 NYTRO and mine does have a short hose on that drain nipple. It kind of ends up down by/below the battery.

My 08 Vector has one, I have to be careful when putting my airbox back on that I don't pinch it between it and the front bulkhead/frame.

OK...I am sick and tired of wrestling with that stupid, too short blowby tube. And my too small hands are still too BIG to reach in and connect that tube on either end. Side note here, I too now know the effects of not having that tube properly attached.

Freak - yes there is a drain tube airbox...routes down pst the battery if memory serves.
Nut - instead of pulling the problem tube off of the airbox, pull it off where it attaches to the engine block. Look closely for the proper routing.

My drain tube is long gone to the bottom!

Its not a drain tube it is a vacuum line and it needs to go back on before you start the sled. The line goes to a nipple between the oil tank and the gearbox on the crank case. Use a flashlight and you will see it. It is easier to pull the tube off from the engine to give some slack then out your airbox on and then put the tube back on the engine. Hope this helps.

The hose is a bit stretchy, I pull it till I can get it on the nipple and the clip in place. It is tough and takes a few trys, but just keep trying till you get it. The air box has to be as close to in place as possible, just so you can still get your fingers under it. The clip holds the hose on once you get it there.

it is tough to get at as said keep air box real close to the small hose i use needle nose 90 degree pliers to hook it back up . it will fit good luck.

Thanks all for the replies...I'm a little surprised no one has found a part # for a longer hose or something along those lines. But, the 90 degree pliers are along the lines of "the right tool for the job".
