GHas mileage had been dropping and the sled developed a wicked howl. Dealer replaced a drive side main shaft bearing and did the jackshaft recall which included 2 new j/shaft bearings. Both original j/shaft bearings were suspect too.

I've greased the drive side main and jackshaft bearings, so that alone won't prevent failures.

Sled is now quiet as a mouse and freewheels much easier now. YES warranty = $0 cost!! ;)!

So whats up with all of the Yammie bearing issues.
Did they have to cut costs and go to a different manu..?

What jackshaft recall? I haven't heard that one, nor have I recieved a notice.

They had a bad run by the supplier and some of the 05 model year was recalled.. I was a lucky one.. No call. MM.

You have to take it to your dealer so they can get the number off the jackshaft to see if it is defective. It was a recall.

The jackshaft bearings see allot of heat from the exhaust header... hot bearings don't last long. The drive axle...?
