:i`m GREGG in NEWFOUNDLAND &LABRADOR i have a new 05 vector mountain with only 100 klms on it , its my 1st mountain machine and i am dissapointed at the drag this machine has, it doean`t roll very well at all this must be eatin power from the engine.
i had a mechanic check the track tension and the chaincase tension and its still the same, you can stop it in a fairly steep hill and it`ll just stay there. i have a friend who had added extra wheel to his suspension at the location where the slide rails turn-up, he sais it has helped.
anyone having a similar problem? have any suggestions?

are you sure you are not experiencing engine braking??

(don't get me wrong, they're heavy but not nearly as cumbersome as some 'experiened' riders would lead you to believe)

All new Yamahas need to get some miles or kms to get rolling i had the same experience with my vipermm, now it rolls very easy

thanks guys, this is a great site, i understand that when my clutch is enguaged that the engine will have a braking effect but after the clutch has let go the machine stops much much faster than any snowmobile i have ever had, it must be costing extra fuel and power, have you guys heard of adding extra wheel?

You aren't by chance running on hardpack, are you? happened to me once on a run today, feels like the brakes are on. if this is your first mountain sled, the deep lug long tracks require you to run in more snow. more idler wheels will help, or scratchers, got to run in loose snow to lube the hyfax.

thanks, the track does stick on sliders on hardpac i have experienced that too but mine is like it in powder too. the machine really feels like it is puttin too much weight on the sliders and i will go with more wheels if it continues, but i`m surprised that noone else has experienced this. thanks

4-Stroke engine braking & no it doesn't rob power or use more gas!Scratchers Greggie, get some scratchers for sure for Hardpack! Not more wheels!

This Vector with the 159 is noticably more drag on the sliders than my RX1 151 was, and i had all the idler wheels taken off that. i don't see the sliders lasting, must be the kicked up rails?

My vector mountain has a 151" track doesn`t it? but yea it could be the curbing of the rails causing the drag.i sure hope it gets beter with use!
its very prone to slide sticking on and getting very hot ,i have to keep it in the fresh snow but it still doean`t coast good enough.
