wifes 05 rs Venture was running great for about 20 miles and then started to bog and hesitate. I have a couple questions.
Acted Like a tors issue. I jumped on it and it would run better with the choke on but was maxing out at about 30-45mph at WOT. I assume I have carb issues??
Also the kill switch has always been sensitive. Slightest touch and it would shut off. Today I isolated it the one of the brown wires that go into the k switch housing. You barely touch it and it kills the engine. I assume bad soldering inside??
What do you guys think? Carbs are most likely the issue with the bog and no go unless someone has advice.
As for the brown wire and the kill switch being super sensitive I guess I need a new one unless someone has advice.
Last... can someone post a pic of the wire set up under the handle bar pad? I think I crossed a few of the thin black wires up. Just want to make sure what is tors and what goes where.
Thanks

Choke on means the pilots are dirty.. those carbs need a good cleaning.

Once you get carbs clean periodically run some sea foam or star tronthru a tank. Load it with same when storing off season. I got sick of dirty carbs from ethanol and sold my venture.

I wouldn't blame it on bad soldering...your sled is 13 years old... Even Yamaha parts wear out. Replace the kill switch and clean the carbs.
