I'm looking at an 06 Apex GT with 15K miles. It has an Ice ripper track, all replaceable bearing wheels, pioneer valved shocks, and a rebuilt chaincase. Is there anything I should be concerned about with that kind of mileage? Just want to know what I might be getting myself into.

Thanks,
Mike

y-pipes, donuts, check for sure along with w-arm, i have replaced w-arm twice, donuts 3 times, y-pipes twice, with that many miles would replace driveshaft also, just did mine with 11,000 miles on my 06 gt, check your shock in track also make sure eyelet not rubbing on track, hand warmers and thumb warmer suck, go with yamaheaters if you want warm hands, could use rear heat exchanger if they did not install one.

When do you need to start thinking about rebuild on the apex engines?

They say to do a valve adjustment at 15k, but I think if the engine doesn't use any oil, and holds good compression, and would pass a leakdown test, go for it!
You'll get a good idea from looking at the sled if it's been treated right or not. If it looks pretty rough around the edges, it may have been neglected a bit in the upkeep catagory?

stock 998 is near bullet proof no need to worry about them at 15k miles you have another 10k before first valve adjustment.
at that mileage and year bushings most likely worn out in control arms, skid and steering post or recently replaced, it should have the electric olins shock in it, check for wires fraying/broken. check for wear on the top shock eyelet for wear from track/studs, exhaust will be obvious if it's leaking, but if it is don't cheap out i would get rid of the titanium pipes and put in stainless steel pipes and copper donuts and forget about it.
also at that mileage pay close attention to the clutches the teflon bushings used in them will wear out i replaced mine at 5000km on secondary and 7200 km on primary
