I don't know for sure but I'm guessing the 03 is the same as the 05.
I have 06 bars on my 05 the past 2 seasons. No problem. You will have to cut the ends off the wires on the 06 bars. They are different than the 05 bars. Take one wire from each grip and hook together. Take the remaining wire from the left grip and hook to the black wire coming up the steering column, take the remaining wire from the right grip and hook to the yellow/black wire coming up the steering column. This is in series like your old grips. They will get very hot this way and you will use 1/2 setting or less.
Or you could hook them in parallel like the 06 bars are stock. Hook one wire from each grip together, hook the other wire from each grip together. Hook one pair of wires to the black wire coming up the column, and the other pair of wires to the yellow/black wire coming up the steering column. They do not get as hot this way. Had them that way the first season and they were ok but not as hot as my stock 05 grips.
If I'm correct, your 03 grips do not return to previous setting like my 05 does after the sled is shut off and restarted. Therefore you will have to remember to turn these down every time you restart the sled, if hooked in series.
