My wife was riding her 06 rs nytro today and it just shut off on her going down the trail. Went to start it and it wouldn't crank over. Pulled it back 50 miles, changed the starter relay still nothing. It was making almost squal noise at the solenoid now with the new one it just makes one click.
Thanks for any help

I had that thought also but jumping it didnt seem to help at all. We had just left the gas station about 3 miles and it started fine. Had rode 80 miles that day no problems till this.

sounding like the wires at the starter solenoid could be an issue. there was also a spot where the harness would rub on the rx sleds of that era under the tool box in the nose of the sled.

Try jumping the starter relay to see if it'll turn over. If the battery is good and it doesn't turn over then the starter failed.

Thank you for the help. I tried jumping the relay and still won't do anything. Would the starter failer have also caused it to stop running?

If the starter didn't disengage after the last startup it would have been locked to the engine rpm and eventually destroyed. When the starter failed it may have locked up and stopped the engine. If that's what actually happened there's a good chance it also destroyed the starter gears and one way starter clutch.
First make sure the battery is fully charged and load tested and if it checks good then the starter system needs checked. The starter will need removed and stator cover pulled to check the gears.
