Well the other day I was driving home and suddenly the sled slowed down very badly and wouldnt go much more then 60 or so but it would still idle just as high as if i was going 150. Then a bit later it seemed to fix itself and I kept driving. Later on though i noticed that it still wasnt at full power, as at it would only go about 110 at almost full throttle and rev very high again for that speed.
I thought it was a blown plug since the second time it seemed to run at 2/3s power but I replaced all them and still had the problem. I was also wondering if water in the gas tank could be a possible cause but then again I know there cant be that much water in it since ive been using gas cans and all the others were fine. So if anyone has had this problem before or has any idea whats wrong it would be very helpful.

you could check your pilot jets. I had something a little like this but not to your extent. I cleaned my carbs for the first time and when revving my sled would hang at around 2,000 rpm for a second or 2 then sometimes longer and then it would go back down to normal. Every time I hit the throttle the sled would hang at that specific rpm for a few seconds then drop. I checked the carbs again and 2 out of the 3 pilot jets were plugged again. Cleaned them and problem solved.

The way my sled is acting though is kinda odd, it doesnt hang at any rpm and doesnt start up difficultly or rev oddly. It goes through the average rev cycle pretty much for how much gas im using. Its just the speed and power isnt being put out unfortunately.

I would look into your clutching as well as it sounds like your belt was slipping...explains high revs. Did the clutches get wet?

Clean them and check/replace the belt.
