If I slowly increase the gas the sled runs fine. If I hit the throttle kind of hard the sled dies. It only does this at a stand still and it doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warmed up. The sled idles right around 1,000 - 1,200 rpm. I also just put in new plugs (gap .029) and fuel. Can you guys give me some ideas before I take it to the dealer? Thanks!

Its possible the TORS swithch is hanging up. If its back firing that could be a place to start.

I have not cleaned the carbs and I'm not really sure how to clean them. The sled is new to me. Can you give me some steps as to how to clean them?

I know what the tors is. When it activates on my nytro it also throws a code. Is this the same for the rage? If so there haven't been any codes.

Before you go into the carbs it never hurts to run a blast of Seafoam thru a tank.

Yes, try Seafoam and some fresh gas through the carb system. Run it a while and I'll bet it clears up for you.

Your idle rpm is a bit low, I would set it at 1500 rpm. . As Vectornut says, 8 0zs of Seafoam with a tank of fresh gas and a good 50 mile run should clean things up, if not, time for a carb cleaning.

Thanks for the article on carb cleaning. While it seems relativity straight forward I plan on leaving with the sled we to put @ our place up north. Next year I'll tackle the carb cleaning myself but this year it is off to the dealer tomorrow. He said no more than $150 to get going. Like they say gotta pay to play!

They're charging you $150 to dump in a can of Sea Foam? Just kidding. I will be pulling my pilot jets soon but I've done it before so to me it isn't too much of a job. I'm trying #50 pilots in place of the 45's.

Normally I am all for tacking something like this on my own and quite frankly it is my fault I should have gotten the sled out sooner. We are leaving today to head up north. I know there isn't much snow to ride but the sled will now stay up there. I hope the dealer did more than just a can of sea foam. I'm sure he did he is a pretty nice guy. Next year I will tackle this myself. Hopefully by then I have picked up a service manual.
