Anyone with an 06 Yamaha will update your suspension to the 08 version. My machine has just under 6000k and it broke. It actually broke around the 4000k mark and I welded it to keep it going. I also reinforced the new updated parts and put on the stronger spring. Haven't used it, only around the yard but seems to make a big difference. I also check the bearings and had three wheels in the rear gone and I also greased the rest. I took out the seals and cleaned and greased them. Had to replace all bushings at either end of the main shock and at either end of those two flat bars.
Something to consider for you 06 owners. I can't see anyone getting near 10000k without failures.
Now that it is updated to the 08 skid I am hoping for a trouble free season next year for at least the next 5000k. Lord knows, I had enough trouble the first 5000k. Yes, this day and age a person shouldn't have that much trouble it is 2008 and this is sled design number 100000000 or so. I just bought an 05 Arctic Cat 660 touring that has over 6000miles on it and the suspension hasn't been touched nor have the slides been changed. This is my wife's pussy cat.
