Having read many threads about the bolt breaking that holds the Apex reverse gear sprocket assembly on the drive shaft I wonder if the 2011 and up reverse design with the extra bearing in the cover is stronger. Is it a more reliable set up than the 06 to 10 design ?

All the broken bolts I have seen are on the nytro. Never have I seen a broken one on apex.

X2 Apex chain case have never had a problem with bolts breaking, but Nytro's yes. The Apex has a way stronger bolt and different design than Nytro also. All the broken bolts I have seen are on the nytro. Never have I seen a broken one on apex.

Are you referring to the 06 to 10 reverse chaincase or 11 to 17 style with the extra bearing in the case cover?X2 Apex chain case have never had a problem with bolts breaking, but Nytro's yes. The Apex has a way stronger bolt and different design than Nytro also.

Both actually , they have a hardened steel bolt and have never heard of one breaking, the Nytro which is the problem bolt is a soft piece crap bolt and just about everyone broke and was updated to a slightly beefed up bolt, but still not even close to strength like the bolt in all the Apex modelsAre you referring to the 06 to 10 reverse chaincase or 11 to 17 style with the extra bearing in the case cover?
