All this speculation I have been reading I decided to use my "FREE PASS" and call a VERY CLOSE freind of Yamaha Canada about next week's release. Please don't ask me who it is because I do not want to get anyone in trouble but it is a VERY RELIABLE source.

He wouldn't come right out and tell me but he says that there is in his words "very good chance" that we will have a EFI RX-1 with MORE HP for next weeks unveiling.

Now....I know there are alot of speculation around here but trust me if this guy says it is happening....it is happening.

LEGAL: He didn't actually come out and SAY it but the way he presented it led me to think that that it is happening.

I heard EFI and same power, but with optional turbo. I speculate that "MORE HP" and "turbo" may be related.

It might be a bit of a trick if they have a MAF sensor mounted in the air box (we would have to figure out a re-location point or how to disconnect it). Look at all the cars/trucks that people put K&Ns on, they all have EFI.

I am changing my thoughts, I think they will come out with a 185HP EFI RX1. If they do, I think my wife needs a new sled.

BostonRX1, I couldn't agree with you more! A 185 hp EFI RX1 would be on its way to Maine as soon as I could get it.

I kept hearing the same thing last week regardless of who I talked to in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The 2006 lineup will focus on mountain sleds. I suspect EFI and/or turbo will go to the mountain sleds first to work out all the kinks before the technology is given to trail sleds.

I also talked with one reliable source that said Yamaha has everyone's turbo installed at their test facility for evaluations.
