had a weird thing happen today im drving along uphill and my quad cuts out. it is low on gas so i figure ill turn around go back down hill have it on flat and put the reserve on and go back home
thing is i put the reserve on it starts soon as i go to move cuts out tryed that a few times same thing kept happening tried it with choke on same thing I know im not empty becasue i can see gas in the tank atleast a gallon in there.
any help on this would be great

why bother if your that low... does it show on the gas gauge?? Maybe your float is not set right.

I had to take the gas tank off the '06 Wolverine. There were a bunch of plastic pieces left over from drilling and screwing fittings into the tank.
Washed it out, rinsed it and blew it out w/ air compressor...several times to make sure everything was gone.
No problems since.

That doesn't sound good! Is Yamaha's manufacturing getting Soft? I gather you are talking about Yamaha doing the drilling for fittings into tank?

i want to bother because i find it strange that i never even got to use the reserve gas that wasw in the tank

I didn't buy it new, but the plastic chips were from the factory. On the trail I had to pull the fuel line off the carb and blow backwards into the tank w/ my mouth. That worked for the rest of the trip. Cleaned it out when I got home.
I haven't talked to Yamaha about this.

Take the valve off the tank and check for obstructions.

and check to see if the straw for on is broken in the tank. had that happen on my xt350 and had to push it home 7km. i was not happy that night.
