I rode about 90 miles yesterday... Before we stopped for lunch, my sled started making a thumping noise. I inspected while stopped and replaced the belt, which had a few chunks missing. I rode the last 30 miles or so pretty slow (25-30 mph) trying to break in the new belt. It ran fine but squealed every time I stopped, and it wanted to creep forward without the brake applied. Guessing the extra width of the new belt was grabbing the sheaves. I used a Gates belt. Don't have the part number on me right now.
I've read that may need to remove the shims on the back of the secondary, which makes sense, but this sled has just under 1,000 miles ( bought it in January with 700. Now about 980). This seems a little premature to me. Is this normal?
Also, I still heard a couple " thumps" coming from underneath. Couldn't inspect the track well on site because it was packed with snow. I'll check it out later.
