I am going out on a limb here, and someone more knowledgeable please chime in, but I have had similar issues in real cold weather. It would take longer to come on than normal. I am guessing there is a relay for the headlights that activates after the machine starts, and your relay is frozen. It should work fine once it warms up. I guess this is a somewhat common occurrence with the fuel pump relay. Some people just carry a spare in their coat pocket where it is a little warmer, and swap out when needed.
On a side note, I had an 06 Nytro with that issue. Also nothing in the spedo was working. If you lost your spedo/gage cluster, I would say you did blow a fuse. That was the issue with mine.

remove left side panel (clutch side). there is four relays that are located above your left foot well. it is the first one at your disposal that is the headlight relay.

Pretty sure my lights don't come on until the red light goes off. Thought it was a safety thing so you don't drive it until warm. The lights turn on the second the red warmup light shuts off???????

nope, lights turn on the instant the sled runs.

My lights come on right when I start the sled up. In severe cold it has taken a couple of extra seconds for them to turn on, but nothing extreme.

My bad. Must have been another $10 parts screwing my sled up.

Changed all 4 Wednesday so hopefully this #*$&@ gets straightened out.
