07 Attack 1 Click Harder Changed Everything

07 Attack GT installed 8 "triples points, skis savers, shims about 500 miles ago & thought a tad more ski pressure would be excellent. I could not get at transfer rod encased in ice & my transfer adjustment only has about 3 threads to go for more pressure. So I took easy way out & clicked 1 click harder compression on front shocks hoping a bit more pressure would come too. Surprising 1 click results a lot more pressure on front skis & shocks plus EC rear ohlin needed to be softend to about middle bar. I was riding all bars hard & pretty much left alone was good for me. Now have much more cush in mono not so tight & play with EC a lot more with much better results. How did 1 click harder compression on front shocks change handeling so much & relate to EC mono systematic changes. I like but surprised!

Has anyone else clicked up compression on front shocks & then suddenly get more cush in mono?.... or just me?

got mine all the way soft on front with slow rebound-kinda acts like a baja truck when going over whoops/rear is always soft also with slow rebound,i change it when trails get real bad.playing with these adj make a big difference,your weight has a lot to do with the way it dances around,and how aggresive you ride your machine.every machine is different/you like what you like & ride how you ride

I know every time you change a setting another setting is offset. Softening the mono by clicking up the front shock clickers surprised me. Was looking to stick the front a little more which I did get + tad of pitch but did not think mono would be more cushy then bar that down on EC. I just moved up front shock 1 click so can't I image when riders make massive chnages all at once. How do they know what heped or hurt?

adjusting snowmobile suspension is already so complicated, and is also very personal...what one finds harsh is another's person's cushy... so pretty difficult to compare...
and all shocks are different, and rider weight, and trail conditions... everything changes so much...

did your trail conditions change much??

Not really as was over 300 mile day so saw a little of everything along the way for comparison. Went from about 20" snow to 3 or 4 feet in UP. Biggest change was running EC bar about half for sweet spot all day instead of hardest setting. Handled really well 75-80mph thru junk but always does....just better.

1 click shouldnt make that much of a difference.. They are very small incriments..

Ive played with mine 4-5 clicks either way and couldnt really tell much of a diffence.. but hey if your happy thats great..

Once you get them set where you want them, you will most likely never change them again.. I know i havent..

Yep me too. I played with front compression & rebound a lot when new then got what I wanted & left them alone till now. Maybe springs & shocks broken in now so 1 click did make a big difference. About 3800 miles now so everything is broken in. Hey I was surprised that 1 click harder was so profound as well.

My rear EC, after Bruce's revalve, is 1-2 clicks either way as far as comfort in the rebound adj...
I can see where 1 click would make a diff
