Is anyone having trouble with their rear skid bottoming out? I am a 185lb 6' tall guy, and I have the preload on my shock at one notch from stiffest setting, and the rebound at max hard. Is my shock NFG? Thanks

Have you looked into a stiffer spring? It is commonly referred to as the big boy spring on this site. Lots of guys installed one these to reduce the suspension from bottoming out. They come in different sizes to match a riders weight.

I weigh the same as you and only bottom out on really hard bumps. Maybe I ride like a sissy but I don't bottom out that often. :dunno:

spring

move your c clip to 2nd position, i weigh 260 i put mine on 3rd position
works fine, this is what turk said to do he knows his business.

Devon069 I've been having the same problem and I'm oly 175lbs and 6' so I was pretty upset when I was bottoming out with the spring set all the way up and the rebound maxed out. So i figured I would try different things I put the rebound on soft and left the sprng on hard and it seems to work although I havent had time to get out on the trail and see how it really works, but I have a big boy spring on order. I was thinking about trying a whole new rear, like the Expert-X that thing looks awesome...but time will tell...

Yup,I'm a big guy also, had my clip on 3 before I ever picked up the sled. Set my cam on 1.Seems pretty close,on ride height, and only bottomed 2 time in fairly rough conditions in U.P. last weekend. Jay

shock

I weigh about 180 and I run 2nd clip, lowest setting on compression and it rides great, I ride pretty hard and have the whole dial to use if it bottoms.
