Rode 55 miles yesterday. Daughter on this Vector. Got home, unloaded sleds, and at slow speeds there is a light tappity/clunky noise that appears to be coming from the chaincase. I asked her if she noticed anything and she said she heard a clunk that sounded like under her feet, but nothing after. Anything faster than say 10 mph, no noise is heard.
I have the chaincase torn apart, oil was clean, no metal, no damage to any gears or chain. I inspected both upper and lower bearings, both appear fine.
As I rotate the assembly with a socket and ratchet off the lower sprocket, everything is buttery smooth. Now, with the secondary on I can get an occasional noise from it, but can't obviously spin it fast enough. With secondary off, no noises and still buttery smooth.
Pucks on secondary are fine. Belt is good. Anybody have any other suggestions? I'm at a loss.
Any chance it's a noise with the secondary that's traveling thru the jack shaft and making it appear it's from the chaincase??
Both jackshaft & driveshaft bearings have been repacked within last 200 miles.
