hey guys i have a problem with my 07 Venture TF once started it seems to sputter(slight popping noise) for 20 seconds or so, then it stalls on its own then when i start it again it lets a real loud backfire out and won't start again i'm a little gunshy to keep choking the sled to start it. Once after sitting and i get it started and the warm up light goes off i went to give it throttle and it dies, start it again and ease the throttle slowly to get it going it will rev up to 5000 rpm and then die. I have fresh gas and seafoam in it, can it be the plugs and flooding itself? Is there something to spray in the carb if its a carb issue? I bought the sled new and it has only 100 miles on it, i know i need to ride it more but 1 winter no snow and 2 other winters had surgery on my shoulder.

Sounds like you have old gas in the carbs, or the carbs need to be cleaned. My sled does the same thing every fall. Remember Sea Foam only stops the gas from gumming the carbs. Take the carbs off give them a quick clean and get rid of any old gas sitting in the bowls. That should get you going. Good Luck !!!

just thought i would post what my results were after doing some reading from other posts i thought i would check the plugs first before cleaning the carb and after taking the plugs out they looked fine but i decided to change them out. The result was night and day put the new plugs in and no problem starting or sputtering backfiring nothing, most posts say when in doubt change the plugs and from now on its a no brainer they will be changed every season regardless what they look like.
