hi new to YAMAHA how do i set up my sled. 162 studs all i am doing is spinning out and it is a very had ride. lock nuts are at the start no preload on springs both front and rear the sled has ohans shocks with handlebar set up and for the front dial set up. also how tight does the track need to be without. thanks and ride HARD

How much do you weigh? I have the same machine and the ride is firm. The dealer set the suspension for my weight (260 lbs) and I had to back of the mono a bit until I felt a difference when I changed the dampening from the handlebars. The fact you say you have no preload on the mono surprises me. Depending on the sled you came from the ride may feel firm. Can you feel a difference when you operate the dampening in the bumps?

Set up your ride height.

You are also going to have to setup your limiter strap in the front of the rear skid and your transfer bar in the bottom rear of your skid. Your owners manual will have instructions on the transfer bar setup.

Loosen front shock preload with front raised in air so the spring is loose but not flopping around. This should get your a-arms just above level.

As for your 162 studs, what length are they? I am guessing they are 1.325" with most dealers throw in. Not enough penetration. You should switch them out for 1.450" Woody's and it will grab.

The Ohlins are an amazing shock system and once you get it setup, it will be awsome.

I weigh 195lbs have the limiter strap fully out torque bar set at max front preload at an inch in but i was always under the impreesion that front preload helped with ski bite? Know i still am spinning way to much being beat by 007 660 turbo only because he has his transfer correct from the factory. we both have the same track and studs i have 162 studs because of ltx and he has 92 on a 121". I can not get the power to the ground like my f7 or even my 900 polaris need help bad because with the other types of sled riders only need to let out the limiter strap and take the blocks out and than get major power the ground. i know when i do there will be very few who can keep up! love the sound and power and will never go back to 2 stroke thanks for any help
