that's awesome  , people have got to post some pic's of this

mines coming off after this w.e. trip!! should just be a bolt on top and bottom rite? no need to touch anything else?

My rx1 was a wheelie monster, bought the sled without rods. Had mountain performace straps instead.

Was alot of fun, could stand it up anytime anyplace. Worked very good for creek crossings and such. But when I took the skid out the first season it was chucking track clips, had a broken w-arm. Several bent support rods.... Not sure if it was from the rods removed, but they went back in when I turboed it.

Miss the wheelies it did.

I recommend studs studs studs before removing rods. Especially if you ride like I do.

yep thats what the dealer told me it would do eventually. said there would be nothing from stopping the skid from slammin down on itself. but def. worth it for draggin. or reinforce the w arm

O.K. gentlemen i was the one who started this post. My sled is 08 ltx gt with ohlans shocks. With the transfer rod out would it be possible just to preload our rear spring more than needed for sag to prevent suspension problems? You guys have been great, i am glad I bought the apex except for spinning. I am going to take it out sat ride for about 100 miles where i usually ride. it is groomed but alot of bumps but that goes with the riding area. I will post my rersults but i think i am going to do what another rider said to slowly pull the trigger and run them down. the guys i ride with our 05 mach, 07 660t, 05 900 fusion, 02 800mxz ,500ss doo, 06 f6, 09 f8 ,97 600xtc and a 09 tz1. they all want a piece of me because of my past sleds, so i am going to try both ways take out transfer rod and them squeeze the trottle easier then run them down except the mach! everyone else should not be a problem on a lake will post the results of the race!!! :4STroke: :die

It's a snap to remove; two 14 mm bolts with nylock nuts. I tried it on hard pack and it sure was a wheelie monster. I didn't like how when I got off the throttle the front end slammed back down. My MachZ never did this and attribute it to the heavier front end on the Apex. I put it back in because conditions were glare ice and hard pack. In these conditions it still launched like a monster when I put it back in. This sled is a monster and I'm quite pleased with how the previous owner has it set up. In condions like this I would definately keep the rod in. I will try it out again once the snow gets fluffier and deeper.

For the record, in those conditions a souped up Nytro and XTX is no match for the 4 cylinder. There's a couple guys who can attest to this now. I got the holeshot on both and ran away from them. Both said they thought for sure they would be neck and neck till 100 or so. They were sadly disapointed to say the least :flag:
