Whats up guys first time Yamaha owner and all i gotta say is wow! I love my new FX Nytro. When i was riding this past weekend my sled was left out overnight and it rained. In the morning the rain obviously froze on my sled and it actually froze my throttle stuck. I brought it inside and it thawed out and it was fine. Went riding for about 10 miles and all of a sudden trouble code 84 came on. Got it towed back to a local shop and he said that there was water in the cable and near the TPS sensor. He blew out the cable, put some cable lube in there and i hoped it was fixed. Went out another 10 miles again and same thing happened trouble code 84. This time I brought it to a Yamaha dealer. They said that the throttle cable was to loose. He tightened it and I took it for a 2 mile ride. It was fine so I'm hoping that was the problem. I have 256 miles on the sled and just have a couple questions. Why is this acting up now when i didn't have a problem with it before? Do you guys think the ice in the throttle caused damage? Any help would be great. Thank you.

change the position you put your thumb on the throttle lever. if you use the very outer tip instead of the face of the flipper you will have issues. ski

Ok I will try it. But any idea on why the problem started now and didn't happen the first 256 miles?

dumb question....what does the position of your thumb have to do with this problem??

I think because there is a sensor on the actual piece that the throttle lever pivots on. If your thumb is in the wrong position then it may affect the TPS sensor. I may be wrong so dont quote me.

T.O.R.S sensor. its the throttle override switch. Could be ice or could be the way you use your thumb. Read the manual. It tells you how to test the tors switch and this is what you may be doing.
