Broke down! Code 84

Unfortunately it isn't the problem. If I hold the throttle lever just enough to take up the slop the code is gone. But if I start it, it revs right to the rev limiter.

You said you tried to by pass it, how did you do this?

There's a thread on this site about it.

Did you put the wires back they way they were after trying to bypass it?

Yup. When it was bypassed and I started it, it almost took off of me.

Try a diagnostic on the throttle angle and ISC (idle speed control)

Thanks Yannie, I'll post when I figure this bugger out!

So it's fixed. I've never had to take this machine to a mechanic before but I have to admit, that I was in over my head on this one. In the end it was a faulty throttle cable. I definitely freaked out when I thought it was an electronic issue because I don't really speak that language but in the end it was the electronic system telling me there was a mechanical problem. Thanks to Yannie for all the help! There's a dealer close to me in Bobcaygeon and they were awesome. It was a surprisingly affordable fix too. Thanks for all the help guys!

I tried to adjust the freeplay on the flipper but it wouldn't adjust properly. What happened in the end was that the cable housing came out of the metal ferrule down at the engine end and because it's so tight down there is couldn't see it. The adjuster also seemed to bind up and then I couldn't adjust either way.

I hope that was what you meant by throttle angle...
