I put the sled in reverse to turn around, and when I took reverse off it went funny. Rev went up and down and code 84 flashed. Can't see anything wrong with the throttle cable. Played with the throttle, a no help. Tried to bypass TORS and when I started it, it tried to take off on me like the throttle was stuck open. Took the belt off and it did the same, revved right out. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help Yannick, but I'm not sure if I'm getting this right. Am I just checking the individual components for continuity? Not sure how this adjusts anything.

In this link it shows the jam but being a issue thought you might want to take a look at yours.

That's were I'll look first, thanks. I tried on the trail but couldn't get my hands in there. Guess I'll start pulling crap off!

Do you have the required free play in the thumb flipper? If there isn't enough free play for the throttle to close completely the TORS won't reset.

It's close. I figure the headlight pod will have to come off to get at the jam nut first so that's what I'm on now.

Maybe I'm doing this wrong but I can't see how you can adjust the throttle without at the very least, moving the rad and steering post?

Ya, so I have the darn thing half torn apart and just realized that you can adjust the throttle cable right on the bars:(

Lol yea there is. What I was showing you was a common problem where the jam nut comes loose.

Unfortunately it isn't the problem. If I hold the throttle lever just enough to take up the slop the code is gone. But if I start it, it revs right to the rev limiter.

I feel bad for you. Is there a air leak?

They seem fine. It's starting to look like a job for the dealer... It's the first real problem I've had besides having to pee on a relay to start it a couple of years ago.
