Hey Guys, has anyone had a dealer address the issues of breaking limiter straps and shock rub and slider wear by their dealer. It looks like everything has been addressed for 2011 but what about us guys who are on the last year of a 3 year warranty on their 09 and really haven't had any resolution. Has anyones dealer come back with an answer from Yamaha? I see all the fixes here but would still like to hear if a dealer or Yamaha has done anything about it. Love the sled but the clock is ticking on that warranty.

You would think...!!! With all the tracks getting chewed up and guys blowing out shocks and stuff.
From Yamaha inner mind... "But, these are expensive parts that we can't warentee due to normal wear parts that all owners need to check regularly."
"We can't admit to our minor design flaw that damages expensive parts as that would set a precident, resulting in that our insurance company would drop us, then we could never offer 3 or 5 year warrenties ever again."
"Damn I wish we could keep consumers from finding out the hard way, but it's too late for that now, we better keep quiet and let them all work it out on their own."

Knock on wood but my limited straps look perfect.
I wonder why some people have problems and others don't. I left my straps in the stock setting. And have 4000km.
Trying to help u guys. I have an early build date. Got my XTX. Sept 2008

I just had my skid removed after 1900 miles & my limiter straps on my xtx looked allmost brand new. I never changed from stock settings.

Some guys, no issues.
Others, major problems.
Never the less... Yamaha made changes for production xtx 2011 skids.
And I now have 2011 parts going on my 2009 skid.
(paid for by me)

Broke 1 at the end of the season last year..... The other wouldn't have been far behind it.

I'm also worried about this, as i bought my track second hand studded down the middle. Are Everyone having studs hitting the rear shock ? Or just a few ? I'm also concerned about the top guides wearing on the stud backs

From what I've been told by a dealer.
More changes were done the 2011 Apex XTX than the 2011 Nytro.
All the XTX nytro guys need to get a good look at the Apex XTX strap set-up.

Well boys, Yamaha Canada together with my dealer came through. Updated the front arm to a 2011 to prevent the top of the straps getting chewed by the spring and a new cross shaft at the bottom that is notched, locating it higher on the rails. this will prevent the bottom of the straps from getting worn from the lugs. You will also need the new bolts and spacers. I personally think it pays off in the long run to buy locally and establish a good relationship with your dealer. Just my .02.

Are those parts coming off the 2011 Apex XTX set-up?
