OK , had the first ride this year , most was good .
First of all , I have installed the 2.3 springs and a 12mm bar . I put on a set of simmons with 4" cutters . I have 192 1.15 studs and green carb springs.
I found the handling very good . I am happy with the front end , feels good (almost like my srx)
I need to start setting the rear soon , it kicked the crap out of me on some of the trails.
In the gas department I rocked , I have under 1000 km on my machine.
There was a mxz 800 , mxz 800 renegade( long track) and a mxz 800 x
On one of the rides the mxz x ran out of gas at the 145 km mark and the renigade ran out exactly 5 kms later , for some reason the other one made it to the gas station . I had 3 bars left on mine . The guy that made it to the gas station with me put 29 bucks in and I put in 19 .
It seemed all weekend I was about 10 bucks cheaper plus when the got oil on the trail it was 9 bucks / liter with tax.
As for performance we all raced a few times and with good starts and rolling startes I won, not by a mile but I slowly pulled away ( all sleds were stock . X had studs , renegade has screw in studs and 1.5 track , the other no studs ( just big guy on seat)
Other than a engine backfiring problem ( in another post) which I hope is bad gas , and my gauge leaked again(second one) it was nice to get out for a ride . I ended up with almost 600 kms for this ride( not like the almost 1400 kms on the truck to get there and back.

Ger, how was the steering with 4" carbides on the Simmons?
I also have Simmons and did 4" carbides on the outside and 6" carbides on the inside, and have 96 studs. Steering was very good, but it seemed to take a little more effort than with the stock skis. Just curious.

I liked it , the only thing is it is hard to compare because the conditions were different on all days , one was cold one was warm and one was in between .
all in all it was way better than the stock ones.
the day it was cold it felt a bit heavy with the 4 inch , but the snow was really crusty and freshly groomed
