1" vs 1.25" Ripsaw.

crs2fer, What size of stud are you running? If you are running a 1.175 on a 1" track, I can't see how you are having a problem. Sounds like studs are just not long enough.

I don't believe studding is the problem it's the soft powdery trails that the backend is all over the place. I was thinking a little taller lug would hold me in place better.

How do you guys like the rip saw compared to normal paddle 1.25 tracks? I prefer the paddle type 1.25's, they seem to work better in all conditions other than top speed running. Seems the rip saw is over hyped, anyone else think so?

Considering where yamaha has been with past OEM tracks, I think the Ripsaw done very well for an all around replacement track. Maybe not the best for one specific condition, but maybe the best for all around conditions. At 36 lbs its one of the lighter 1.25 tracks so I would favour it over the 40 lbs+ tracks. I’ve also had good luck with the Doo 1.25 OEM tracks. I wouldn’t spend the coin replacing a 1.25 track to a ripsaw unless the track is pooched. JMO

Dano good point on how much of an improvement the rip saw is over yammies older tracks! My friend's stock XTC 600 track is pretty much worthless unless you're on hard pack. I was basing my reply on the fact that I had a rip saw on my 03 rev X 600 and have the standard 1.25 doo paddle on my 04 rev X 800 (both studded) and just prefer the doo track for where I ride (not much top end running).

You are right dynofax, it all depends where you ride, in hard packed groomed trails the rip saw is better, but for softer trails the paddles work better.
