That is one nice Extendo-Cab he has!
It is a thankless job by the majority but at the same time there are good guys out there too.
Last year we came up on a groomer that was broke down AND stuck. Not in our club, about an hour away. The operator was bummed out (obviously) - he figured it would be a couple weeks before they could get it back out. One of our group is a logger and said call me in the morning if you want help getting it out. We gave the groomer a ride to their clubhouse and he made a call right there. The club said they would be more than happy to have my friend help and had no problem signing permission for him as well as informing the BOT.
He had a tracked skidder there the next morning (taken off a working job) on a low bed and 12 hours later we had the groomer back at the club. He did not accept any payment and even filled the skidder with diesel from the tank on his truck. We didn't get back home until after 10PM - it was a 16+ hour day. The groomer was back out at it two days later after some welding and a track repair.
On the way home he says, "well we have been beating on these trails since we were kids, its the least we could do........ so true.

I can't imagine being a jerk to the guy grooming and working hard to keep our trails nice. I don't know how many times I've seen idiots wreck freshly groomed trails. Then you see the same idiots at the diner complaining about the trails. Some people just don't get it. I've ridden with people that think their so fast like in one of the stories that would slam on his brakes then hammer the throttle digging the trail all up. What he couldn't get was I was pulling away from him by riding smooth and I wasn't damaging the trail.

Thank you "Groomer Guy", some of the best Ontario trails I've ridden in your area. Hope we have enough snow this year for you to groom.

It's sobering to hear how kooky people are. I like the one where the guy drove his sled up on the drag from following too close, and the one where the guy blocked the trail and wanted to pick a fight with the guy - the nerve......
So many people to understand what's it's like to operate heavy equipment, they think it's like their car.
