well i ordered the rail extensions for my gt ,I found a 1.5 x 136 x14 track so I plan to do the swap as soon as the extensions arrive. I am hoping that after it's done ,the gt will be easier on the the old bones. the way it is now it just beats me half to death after much more than a couple hrs on the trail. I rode my wifes polaris 550 IQ shift today and couldn't believe the difference . Much easier on the arthritic joints.
Am I expecting too much with this swap? My main reason for the swap is to make it a better off trail sled but after today I am hoping better handling will be a an added bonus....any thoughts?

I want to do the same swap but I'm not sure if I should just go with a bigger lug 121. I think you'll have to up grade your skis to take full advantage of the bigger, longer track. keep us posted on the out come of the change. very interested.thanks

sweet. interested in the turnout. probably going to do the same thing when the time comes.

agreed jason. ski upgrade will help.

So , you figure a ski upgrade will help with the harsh ride / handling?

yes. changing skis will make a big diff. you won't have any more "pushing" in the corners. also if you go off trail or in deep snow, the sled won't dive.
i switched ski's since last year & just by farting around in the yard, i could notice the difference. so far only 200 miles with no regrets.

I had the 136 added and installed a pair Precision Ski-Doo skis with Shaper Bars on both inside and outside. I also put both spacers on the inside of the skis to increase the ski stance. It is a huge difference, the sled is now fun to ride, no darting, no push in the corners and much more stable. As for the track, it’s like adding a bunch of HP; the traction is so much better.

I think you meant putting the spacers on the outside. Inside would make it more narrow.
