could they be used together by moving the skid back a bit ? like a cheater way to lengthen the sleds footprint , decrease approach angle and center my weight over the center of the skid as opposed to being at end of it .

thoughts ?

Isn't moving the skid back to use a longer track more of a trick the mountain guys use? I would think it would create more ski pressure to lengthen the distance from the skis to the rear suspension...thats my thought anyways

I was thinking about doing this to my nytro. Just set it back 3.5" for a 128 or for a 136 track put 128 extensions on it then set it back enough for the 136. I was looking for better approach angle and more traction for the turbo. Sounds like I need an XTX skid. Who wants to donate a skid? LOL

im guessing youd have to jack the front skid preload a bit ... but im only talking 2-3 inches of difference .

i notice a distinct difference watching my buds rx-1 and xtx nytro make runs on the lake ... the rex never ever comes up on plane it seems like where the nytro gets up and out .

There have been a few members on here move it back to a 136" and its worked out ok. There have also been a couple that moved it back that far and said it steered like a tank.

I would think a 128 would be ok. Try to ask lazybastard he really understand suspension geometery.

I moved a 144' back 4" and run a 151"track.I still can't keep the skis on the ground, but thats cause the blower. It really makes for a nice angle on the track.

thank you for sharing ... the more i read .... ( posted on other bords too. ) the more its really worth a shot . got a rx-1 tunnel i may be back halfing my cat with too .

anyone ever see an older cat with a sweet polished tunnel and drilled /dimpled foot boards ??? lol no didnt think so .

just daring to be different .
