Would you say your helix wrap is based on the ulmer primary kit?
I've messed with mine based on a chart from this site. Stock for me was a1 (chart shows 20*)
I've adjusted each way with varrying results with still rev limiter on bottom and top speed 105kmish and rpm at 12000+.
I'd like to try a2 (chart shows 50*) you guys are set at but a little worried as I'm totally green on the clutching.
Basically trying to understand the difference in degrees posted from what chart states and or factory manual. Confirmed this weekend that stock should be in that 50* range.
My thoughts are it was set wrong from the get-go? Or am I waaaaaay out in left field.
My appoligies for maybe jacking your thread, being green, I'm not 100% sure on how to start off learning before ordering a kit. I like to understand hands on before just bolting in a kit

Interesting. Where did that chart come from? I'm using the chart from the shop manual for the 2007. I have a red spring so I'm following that chart.
Yes the change was based on the kit. If you don't have the kit or something else modified I wouldn't change from the stock setting. The amount of preload in the secondary, which is what you are adjusting with change in angle, controls the amount of pressure required for the belt to pull through the secondary. You need a certain amount of pressure to prevent the belt from slipping when you start to accelerate.
The trade off is the efficient of the clutches is reduced with the increase in preload. It will also be harder on belts and the clutches due to heat.
While increasing the preload will decrease the RPMs it isn't the correct way to do it. If you have anover revving problem you most likely need extra weight in the primary.
My problem was more due to belt slip in the secondary.
Clutching get complicated. You might want to try and get a copy of Aaen's book, it does a much better job than I can if explaining.

I almost ordered it today from Royal. 35bucks but they didn't have Yami weights so I posponed my next order. Re: Aaen book.
That chart, i'm sure is exactly what 99% are going off. Has to be. Cause all the people i'm buggin for a lil help are like "What?" 20*, no stock should be A1 45* to B1..... Take 10* out for more load on the primary and bring rpms down. 2-300 incriments ect.
Thanks for posting that chart!!! I used one off the site here but I think its dated or for something else.

No, actually wasn't aware there was a ride going on but I'm working. Post some photos after, I have been up that way this year.
