14,000 to much for me

Yamaha sticks to there pricing and thats why our resale is so good. If they dropped the price to 12000 there would be a boat load of pissed off fan fair like the others brands.

yea thats true but some of us like to upgrade every few years. Maybe if they invented a skid so I can put wheels on it and drive it all year. Then maybe it would be worth it. LOL

We had a good winter in the east too but We're in the lake effect band too. I looked at all the msrp's and they were all around $12,000, accept yammi who was $15,000. Its just crazy for a machine that you can only use 3-4 months out of the year and it will be outdated in a year or two..

The only thing about my current sled I need is more power so I'm ordering a yamacharger for $2000 and saving the rest of my money.
You folks may have had a great "Lake Effects Snow" but we in the Real Northeast "Northern New England" took the shaft! Had to cancel early March trip to Quebec for lack of snow. All the sled co. are gonna have bad sales this year, lack of purchase power by us and for the most part poor snow conditions over most of the snow belt last season.

I agree, We got the shaft for sure. Did you enjoy absolutely no riding all winter and sitting down at night hearing the "so much snow all over the U.S." every night. It was like a fricken nitemare.

Yea even the tip of maine by caribou closed there trails early this last year. I really wish I lived out west colorado, montana, I think it was montana I heard they got like a foot of snow late spring.

We almost always do well with the snow, thats why I live here. There have been winters in the past that I could drive about 100 miles in any direction and run out of snow, come home and Im right back on groomed trails... love this place for that reason...

I got deals on the 2010, 2009 and 2008 Yamaha sleds I owned and obviously you haven't tried selling a used sled lately. Again if we weren't in a depression and everyone was getting pay raises this wouldn't be an issue but in a depression period with unemployment at 10% $15,000 is way more than even a person who can afford one wants to spend.

My point is they fixed the muffler issue and added a $500 power steering option that is already perfected in the 4 wheelers. You can get one of those sleds for $8700 and buy a Vector to boot.

If the sled had autopilot and I could drive it during the summer then maybe I would pay $13,500.

Save yourselves the money. Buy a 2009, add a yamacharger and put snowtrackers on it and then buy a second sled. :-o

It must be in the water same as these people who say the price of their 06-10 Apexs went up because new 2011 Apex SE MSRP is $15K. Sure!!! tell it to the dealer when you try to trade your old sled in just book trade in value that is it & he will have a good laugh at your expense. Just does not work that way wishful thinking.

we had a bad #*$&@ year on the west coast (of mich) last year lake efect baby!! and the lake is warm this summer so i think the lake is going to be a snow makeing monster this year :)

I got one decent trip in Baldwin, one in Gaylord area and one up near Indian River, but my trip to paridise was the worst snow conditions I have ever had in the UP. I totaled 780 miles last year on my new sled, which is way less than normal. Usually around 2,000+ miles.

This year Im heading back to Houghton/Hancock. went there 2 years ago, and had the best trails conditions and ammount of snow I have ridden to date. But, my buddy and I were riding our (93 & 94) thundercats then. With the Apex LTX GT (my buddy also bought an 08 anniv LTX GT as well), that trip will be perfect this year. I dont think snow depth will be an issue up there.

I hope to get to have some good trails in the lower P, I like the trails in baldwin and hope to go there several times this year.

The prices are not going up on used at all, but they are definitely holding now compared to other years. Like you said though, lots of people think it means the prices go up. I saw an add for a 2000 mxz 700 the other day in my area for 4800.00. I couldnt believe what i saw, talk about living under a rock, lol!!

Ok i just got the new buyers guide for here in Quebec and these are the posted prices .
Apex $16699 Apex se $17799 Apex x-tx $17299 .
If we had to pay the full $17799 for the Apex se with taxes it would come to over $20000 !

I made it up to Houghton/Hancock area 2 or 3 times last winter. It is awsome to go there during the week when the trails aren't so beat up and they have a chance to groom them. I was up in the beginning of march (first weekend if I'm remembering correctly) and they had a 65 degree weekend, I was able to ride a little but that Sunday was the last time they groomed for the year.

I had gone to school up there at Mich Tech and rode quite a bit while I was there. Usually there was still snow through April, closing the trails up there at the beginning of March is unheard of. I did get 1500 miles on my 2009 Apex LTX GT though, so I did alright last winter.

Why is it so much up in canada, the dollar is almost the same in price, and what is the deal with usa dealers not being able to sell to canada???

I know brp can only sell a demo or used machines (dealer) but if they sell new they can loose their license to sell brp. As for polaris and cat and yamaha it was still posible up to about a year or two ago to buy a new machine from the states but the warrante would be void or the sled could only be repaired back in the states.
What really pisses me off more is that parts are 15 to 50 % less in the states.
Also i cant and dont understand why brp is $3000 to $5000 more up here when they are made here in canada !

Do you know why most things governments do are ridiculous but what is the reason that is given for why they cannot sell to canada. I don't understand? taxes?

I guess taxes and they want us to buy in canada or should i say keep the money here and not in the states. I for one have bought 3 used sleds in the states and always came on top !
I still have to pay duties and taxes here on a used sled but its still worth it. What really bums me out is the stupid inspection fee they charge up here of $210
