I am looking at installing a 16 inch camo extreme with a 162 ez-ryde in my stock nytro tunnel - will it fit? I understand that I may only need to trim off a couple bolt threads on the front of my tunnel? Has anyone tried this, if so what else is needed. Will I need to extend my tunnel?

you'll need to reverse some rivets in the front also. It's a tight fit. I'd just go with a 15" IMO.

No need to extend the tunnel, it will fit like it is. But you need to get new brackets for the rear of the suspension. The stock brackets are too narrow, a 16 inch would not fit. Take a look at the Timbersled brackets, they are designed for a 16 inch track....

The EZ-Ryde has different rear mounts that will work.

I have a 16 wide on my MTX with a 162 ezryde. It fits just fine. Just call CR racing and get them to send you a kit to fit a 16 wide in the Nytro. It was like 15 bucks for all the bolts needed and instructions.

IMO, you'll loose too much track speed to pull hills, do to lack of hp on a stock sled.

When I put the 16" wide on my XTX. I cut the stock brackets off at the point where the track rides around the upper idler wheels. Then made some re-enforcing plates out of 1/4" aluminum, that are the same size as the removed section of bracket. These plates are then rivited/bolted to the outside of the tunnel.

Re: thanks
Definately worth it. I dont know many guys around here that dont run 162. it needs the floatation. You may need to Gear it down one tooth.

My cousin put a 156x15 CE on his stock 09MTX and is extremely happy with it. It is a night and day difference to the stock track. you cut the paddles down to 2.25". He has surprised me at where he can go now and has done some clutch work that has enabled him to kick 800 Rev's a$$e$ in drag races. All he did was but the longer track on and a big wheel kit with no rail extensions. Seems to be workingwell, with no issues last year. If it were me I'd go with the 15" width for the above stated reason (lack of hp) if you plan on boosting hp some way later on, then the 16" would come into play.

well i ride with one guy that has an 05 vector with a 16x 162 that engine i believe has only 120 hp, and he pulls hills and deep snow pretty well so i would think a nytro should do fine. Why cut down to 2.25.

You get a stiffer paddle, less fold over of the paddle tip, bites firmer snow better. it does trench a little more but it's a good trade off IMO

well im gonna try the the 16 wide. if i feel like not enough grunt i will gear down one tooth, and or narrow the track .25 on each side, i plan on a SC for later on in the year just not right now. I also plan on moving the skid back 1.5 inches to help approach angle and take up the slack of the 156.
