so i got to take my first ride on the phazer i bought in the the spring and i got 2 issues i found.

first is i randomly got a check engine light with a code 85, any ideas what would make it be random? it came on went out, then came on again for awhile, then went out.

second is my belt is riding pretty low in secondary (like almost even with top of clutch) and squeaks upon launch, there is a good chance the belt is warn as i dont know alot of it, so is it worth trying to adjust the secondary or start with a new belt and see where it rides with a new belt?

sleds is a 07 and has 4300 miles on it

Start with a new belt. Make sure you have oil to full mark if it is then your pressure switch is probably shot. Is one right by filter. Same thing happened to mine few years ago.

well im getting a new belt tomorrow so we will see if that fixes that.

checked oil today and was full and still clean, checked both connections on the senders and cleared the code. and it didnt come back on today at all so i guess i see if it comes on again before i dig more.

I note that mine has given a brief little 'squawk' when launching no matter belt condition since day one, but only after using the brakes somewhat hard on a stop. Engine braking it to a stop it doesn't make the noise.

Presume this is the pads just needing a bit of brake disc rotation for a clean release. after clamping hard.

mines deff belt squak, and it seems that it does it once snow dust starts flying, i know that side panel is by no means water tight but is there any way to help keep moisture out without holding in heat??

im not looking to add ventilation at this point but trying to find a way to seal it as is.

You don't have to add holes just cover the ones you want to keep the cavity dry with frogskinz to prevent snow ingress. No difference to ventilation except drier. Kind of like Gortex, breathable but impervious to water.

i guess i really just need to get the new belt on it and ride it to see if there is actually a issue.
it just seems like snowdust is getting in through the gaps on the clutch side panel as there is no seal only a few tabs and some zues fasteners.
