Greetings!

Last year ,we had above , way above avg snowfall, it was great. However, I noticed something I never had an issue with before on my Vector ... I went thru old built, and then a Second , clutch was hot too ... I have never replaced Clutch before, code my clutch be going ? What do I look for ? I would say couple of variables last year, new extended tunnel and new track 1.352 lug, lots of running in lose and deeper snow, 65% on ungroomed trails ...

Second concern/issue ... Last year I had my coolant drain and new put it, I had someone do it. But I noticed last year I went thru a lot of coolant but did not see any leaking... Could he have gotten air in the system and if so how do I get rid of it, or will it eventually come out of the system naturally? Also, curious , for those who have vector what coolant are you running in it ? Thanks Charlie

So you burned up two belts and the clutches were hot and you had coolant drained and refilled and kept seeing the coolant was low and had to add correct?
How many miles are on the sled? how many miles per belt? when was the last time anyone inspected the clutches? It is possible that air got in the system and it will work its way out over time if you keep checking and adding. there is a bleeder on the rear cross tube if you make that they high point the air will go there and you can bleed. if you have high miles on clutches I would check the buttons on the secondary and the rollers on the primary either one could cause extra friction on the belt building heat and causing belt to fail.

I would also just replace the clutch springs after servicing the clutch. Heavy load like lot of snow and wore springs puts you in wrong gear so to speak. They don’t last forever.

odds are for coolant, it will have stabilized as any air bubbles will have worked themselves out of the system. i usually have to add 2x when i have a coolant system open on a sled and that is with burping it through the bleeders.

as to the clutching, when you went to the longer/deeper lug track, odds are it needed the weights adjusted. new springs and a good inspection/cleaning might do the job but odds are you will need either a clutch kit or adjustment. from the vectors/ventures i have ridden off trail, they are usually clutched for mild engagement and that does not grip the belt well, causing excessive heat and belt failure.

Per your first statement, yes that is correct.
About 3k on Sled. Not sure on first belt that went it lasted a few seasons, 2nd belt went less than 500 miles... When this happened the second time I had a guy that has done a lot work on sled check out clutches and he could not " see any physical" issues with clutches .. Regarding coolant I guess I will keep feeding it , and see it the issue goes away this winter.

I've had good luck running the Carlisle XS belt. I used to smoke Yamaha belts at low speeds but the Carlisle compound is softer and grips much better.
