2 stroke 3000-5000 miles is it????

Ive heard this back when yamaha went all 4stroke and ended up last in sales. Doo knows this, and kept the 2strokes coming. Which was their best seller last year, the 850. Yamaha should have done the same, maybe would still be building sleds
Doo and Yamaha didn't build any turbos till recently. The first Cat and Polaris turbos were poorly executed. Turbos are starting to take market share. 800 and 850 owners will only tolerate so much of turbos easily blowing by them.

Instead of putting my money into rebuilding two stroke engines I put it into shocks. Now I grin from ear to ear with a great ride. No blown engines and a smooth ride!

Tell that to the off trail guys, or the mountain riders, or perhaps the sno cross racers. Lol, no one in those realms wants a 600plus pound sled with a battery, turbo, intercooler.....Im glad that you like you rebadged thundercat, king of the lake. Not everyone wants to go 120mph tho. Big turbo might be yamahas best seller? Probably because they dont offer sht to choose from. And still, as great as the thundercatSW is, yamaha is still dead last in sales. And the doo 850 is their best seller, not the ace 900, thats a fact. Not sure about Cat, but im guessing their 800 2stroke is their best seller. Back in 2003 4strokes were gonna be the future. Now that sales figures show that was 100% wrong {yami LAST IN SALES}, well, now its TURBO 4 strokes are the future. History shows the path to sucess

Again, there were no good turbos until recently. Doo just came out with theirs.
A turbo adds a huge amount of power(double on the same engine with software tweaking) and a small amount of weight.
What's not to love.

I totally agree, turbos are great, efficient way to add big power. Hell, my diesel truck wouldnt hardly move without one. Just dont think that big heavy lake rockets are the way of the future. Especially with the younger generation. Around here, off trail riding is gaining popularity quickly. I Sure would love a big heavy 120mph turbo 4stroke to go off trail, deep into the woods.....said no one....ever.

Many times an Apex blows by them too! LOL!

There's no off trail riding in the southern Ontario as almost all the land is privately owned. There are some parts in northern Ontario where off trail can be run, but one must be careful not to trespass on private land. The market has gravitated towards higher power sleds over the last couple decades and I expect that trend to continue. I don't know how I could ever go back to a 165 hp sled, or a 900 triple with 150 hp, after running winder hp. The fun factor from this kind of acceleration just can't be ignored. It isn't just about going 120mph, it's about how fast it gets there. Only turbos can accelerate this hard corner to corner.

Not that im a polaris fan, but, 2019 switchback assault is 468lbs, 170HP. You might be surprised when you line up next to one if your SW is stock.

Have you trail rode a sidewinder yet?
I know a lot of people who have left the two stroke sleds for four stroke sleds and will never go back to owning another two stroke time bomb.

i have not. i couldve bought one instead of my apex but wasnt interested in a rebadged arctic cat. How do you like yours? You got it stuck yet? I am not anti 4stroke, or anti turbo. i think theyre both awsome. But i, unlike alot of guys, also dig 2strokes. Kinda sucks to me that yamahas new srx is actually an 8 year old arctic cat chasis with a killer engine. But hey, thats what happens when you ignore the market and end up dead last in sales. Riding Cats chasis engineering coat tails. Kinda ironic people sick of the old delta box jumping on an 8 year old design. Meanwhile Doo and Poo constantly designing and engineering their OWN stuff

It has a 1.75 lug track and SLP Mohawk skis. It's a blast to ride!

Ya, I saw a dyno report, it is just shy of 170. It should give the winder a good run in 500-800 feet.

It is my understanding that Cat and Yamaha were last in sales a decade ago too, so I'm not sure why you keep referencing that particular time.
In addition, while Doo and Polaris claim all new chassis, they really are not a whole lot different than the Doo's of 2008 and the first Rush version.

They were BOTH last in sales? Lol. Sure
