Ext kt was definatly a tight fit on the rails and stuff but once on is solid. Great job on the machining OFT.
Installed a 2" profile track. Very tight fit. For those of you out there wanting to go to a 2 1/4 " or bigger, cant say it cant be done with stock drivers but to me it doesnt look like it.
Now for some snow to try it all out. May need to drop a tooth or two on the drive gear, but not sure yet.

Yes its a very tight fit for sure with a 2" track, I had very little room with the 1.75" track

I'm glad you're happy! Lets see some pictures ;)!

I would suggest dropping a couple of teeth for sure. I don't think you will "need" to, the stock gearing will still work. However with a 136x2 you have lost a lot of top end so why leave it geared for speeds you won't reach when you could be gaining some grunt down low? I've been running 19/39 with a 136/1.75 and it has worked fantastic in all conditions. Most bang for the buck mod you will do to your sled when going to a big track.

i didnt think the gearing really mattered that why I didnt change it. If i got to I will. Not kuch to just change the drive gear. Just got enough money invested for the year ob track and ext kit lol. may need skis yet so. money racket lol
But if I had to change it id go 17/39. I believe the stock chain will still work. not 100% tho.

Yes gearing makes a big difference. If you are riding in good amounts of snow, which I assume you are since you put a challenger on it, it can make a huge difference. ....and a top sprocket is like $35. To invest all that money in extensions and a track and stop $35 short of doing it right!?!

A properly geared sled will allow you clutches to operate efficiently and that often translates to better belt life....and you'll make that $35 back pretty quick that way.

17/39 (2.29)?? I don't know man I think that might be too far the other way. You are getting to MTX gearing for a 153 or larger. ...and if the stock chain works, which I don't think it will you'll have one hell of a dog leg in it. You'd be better off going 18/40 (2.22) if you want that high of a ratio.

im gunna try it out anyways. I probably will go to a lower ratio. only a half hour to change out the gear anyways. Didnt know they were so cheap. never did price one to tell you the truth lol.
I know what you mean to by the 17/39 thing. probabky use just about alk the adjustment on the chain and thats if it fits.

I agree with revster, buy a 19 tooth top gear to use with your stock 39 bottom. Cheap and easy to install. I geared my sled 20/39 but i have a 1.5" x 136" , works good for me.

I don't think you do know what I mean about the 17/39 or else you wouldn't be planning on trying it.........I'm saying don't do it.

I would suggest that you do some searches on here and read about gearing. ;)!

I think it's ok to highjack this post as I sold fxnytro1050 my OFT kit and he owes me one ! I'll take some gearing advise while it's on topic. I'm going for the 136" Ripsaw to the 144" Back Country. My sled worked really well and by that I mean out pulling any stock 2012 800 Cat or Etec. ( and seeing 110 MPH + in 1200 feet ) Only thing done is the SB clutching. I'm not much for racing but it sure is fun surprising all the motor mouths. My plan is to run current set up and then make changes if need be. I ride mostly off trail but do get caught up racing from time to time.

I agree with revster and rookie, I'd go around 19 or 20 up top.

I've got a pile of 20 tooth gears and 68 link chains if anyone needs one. They are new take offs from MTX's being set up for sea level at the dealer.

Sleds are looking good and I'm very jealous of the snow.
